The Mission District stretches along Mission Street from Cesar Chaves to
Market Street, bordered by Dolores Street and Potrero Street. The neighborhood
takes its name from Mission Dolores, San Francisco's oldest building, established
in 1776.
The neighborhood has the city's warmest weather, and Dolores Park provides great
views of the Bay and the city skyline. While the area was historically a primarily
Hispanic community, it is now home to a variety of ethnic restaurants and dotcom
businesses.
